Tapestry se estanca y hunde su beneficio un 15,6% en el primer semestre
Tapestry tropieza en el primer semestre. El grupo estadounidense de moda ha reducido los ingresos un 0,3% en el primer semestre del ejercicio 2020, hasta 3.173 millones de dólares (2.879 millones de euros) frente a los 3.182 millones de dólares (2.879 millones de euros) que facturó en el mismo periodo del ejercicio anterior.
El resultado neto de la compañía también ha evolucionado a la baja en el mismo periodo y ha retrocedido un 15,6%, hasta 318 millones de dólares (288 millones de euros). En los seis primeros meses del ejercicio fiscal 2019, el beneficio neto de Tapestry fue de 377 millones de dólares (342 millones de euros).
Por marcas, Stuart Weitzan ha facturado un 7,9% más, hasta 218 millones de dólares (197 millones de euros). Sin embargo, Coach ha continuado siendo la mayor fuente de ingresos del grupo, aunque ha disminuido sus ventas un 1,2%, hasta 2.209 millones de dólares (2.004 millones de euros). Kate Spade ha elevado sus ingresos un 2,4%, hasta 753 millones de dólares (683 millones de euros).
Coach ha sido la mayor fuente de ingresos de Tapestry aunque Stuart Weitzan es la que más ha crecido
La compañía prevé cerrar el ejercicio 2020 con unos ingresos de 5.900 millones de dólares (5.353 millones de euros). En paralelo, Tapestry también ha nombrado hoy una nueva consejera delegada y directora de marca para Kate Spade. Liz Fraser tomará posesión de su nuevo cargo el próximo 1 de marzo y relevará a Joanne Crevoiserat, que ha asumido estas funciones de manera provisional y seguirá ejerciendo de directora financiera de Tapestry.
Tapestry también escogido a Giorgio Sarné, actual presidente y consejero delegado de Tapestry en Asia, para presidir la marca Stuart Weitzman. Sarné sucederá a Eraldo Poletto, que abandonará la compañía el próximo 1 de marzo.
