Opening Ceremony vive sus últimos días como retailer físico. La empresa estadounidense, fundada en 2002 por Carol Lim y Humberto Leon, ha anunciado a través de sus redes sociales el cierre de todas sus tiendas a escala global este año. La compañía acaba de ser adquirida por New Guards Group, propiedad de Fartech.
“Hemos tomado la decisión de centrarnos en la creciente colección y marca de Opening Ceremony con nuestros nuevos socios, New Guards Group, y expandir los diseños de Opening Ceremony” explicaron los fundadores en el comunicado publicado en el perfil de Instagram de la compañía.
El anuncio también explica que Opening Ceremony continuará existiendo como una sola marca, y ya no como un minorista. “Estamos alejándonos del comercio minorista multimarca por un momento, para que podamos volver como Opening Ceremony ha sido antes”, escribieron Lim y Leon.
