Marypaz, salvada: Álvaro Pellón compra la marca y la unidad productiva con los Aguaded
Un mes para salvar Marypaz. El empresario Álvaro Pellón, a través de la sociedad Crocea Mors, firmó ayer la adquisición de la empresa sevillana de calzado, que a finales del pasado octubre entró en concurso de acreedores. La operación, cuyo importe no ha trascendido, permitirá mantener 700 puestos de trabajo, así como 125 tiendas en España, y se ha realizado con el acompañamiento de la familia Aguaded, fundadora de la empresa.
Según han explicado a Modaes.es fuentes de la compañía, Crocea Mors se ha hecho con el control de la marca y de la unidad productiva. Además de la red de 125 tiendas, Marypaz mantendrá sus oficinas centrales y su plataforma logística, ubicadas en el polígono industrial La Negrilla de Sevilla. La operación implica que el actual equipo directivo de Marypaz se mantendrá en sus cargos, de manera que la familia Aguaded continuará al frente de la empresa.
El empresario Álvaro Pellón López Montenegro no tiene ninguna vinculación con el sector de la moda. De hecho, la sociedad Crocea Mors fue constituida el pasado junio y tiene como objeto social la intermediación de comercio de textiles, prendas de vestir, peletería y calzado. Según consta en el Registro Mercantil, el empresario, de perfil bajo, aparece vinculado a sociedades relacionadas con el sector inmobiliario y la construcción.

A finales del pasado octubre, Marypaz, uno de los mayores grupos de distribución de calzado de España, entró en concurso de acreedores por segunda vez, después de que el fondo Black Toro la dejara caer. La entrada en los juzgados fue fruto de la “falta de apoyo financiero en la reestructuración de la deuda y la obtención de fondos para desarrollar el plan de crecimiento de la compañía”, según señalaron fuentes de la empresa.
Tras convertirse en una de las mayores compañías de moda de España fruto de un acelerado proceso de expansión, Marypaz se acogió al preconcurso en abril de 2016 por un problema de financiación. En julio del mismo año, la empresa presentó concurso y en septiembre fue adquirida por Black Toro.
Marypaz distribuye cada año más de cinco millones de pares de zapatos. Según los últimos datos disponibles, la compañía finalizó el ejercicio 2018 con una cifra de negocio de 98,8 millones de euros, lo que supuso un incremento del 16% respecto a los 85 millones de euros del año anterior.
