La venta de Hudson’s Bay, en el aire: parte de los accionistas se oponen
Hudson’s Bay tropieza con sus accionistas en su plan para salir de bolsa. The Catalyst Capital Group y otro grupo de inversores, que controlan en total el 28,24% del capital, ya han anunciado que votarán en contra de la operación liderada por el presidente ejecutivo del grupo, Richard A. Baker.
El pasado octubre, el consejo de administración de la compañía de grandes almacenes dio luz verde a la operación, pero está pendiente el visto bueno por parte de los accionista. La votación está prevista para mediados de diciembre, según WWD.
Baker y un grupo de inversores que suman una participación del 57% en Hudson’s Bay ofertaron 10,3 dólares canadienses por acción para hacerse con el 43% restante del capital.
“Pedimos al consejo que pida otras opciones a Richard Baker o que deje expirar su oferta y lleve a cabo un verdadero proceso de venta”, demandó Gabriel de Alba, director general y socio de Catalyst. El fondo controla el 17,49% de Hudson’s Bay.
