España: Mobalpa llega al país para desafiar a IKEA y Leroy Merlin
El grupo francés, con 350 tiendas en una veintena de países y más de 430 millones de facturación, inaugura sus primeras tiendas en Santander y Bilbao.
Llega a España un nuevo jugador para competir en el mercado de las cocinas, los baños y los muebles para el hogar. Se trata de Mobalpa, una empresa francesa fundada en 1948 y perteneciente al grupo Fournier, que suma un total de 350 tiendas repartidas por una veintena de países -más de la mitad están ubicadas enFrancia- y que, el año pasado, alcanzó una facturación de más de 430 millones de euros con una plantilla de más de 1.600 empleados a nivel mundial.
Su desembarco en España ha tenido lugar este mismo mes de marzo, con la apertura de dos tiendas en Santa Cruz de Bezana (Santander) y Barakaldo (Bilbao). La elección de ambas ubicaciones responde a su cercanía conFrancia, el país donde el grupo tiene más músculo, lo que le hará más sencillo en esta primera etapa desarrollar la gestión de su logística sin necesidad de contar con una estructura propia en el mercado nacional: la empresa ya distribuye sus mercancías muy cerca de la frontera conEspaña, ya que cuenta con tiendas en Biarritz, Dax o Pau.
Una vez que Mobalpa evalúe los resultados de su llegada al país, la empresa asegura que su objetivo será abrir en torno a cinco locales al año de media hasta alcanzar alrededor de 30 tiendas enEspaña en 2025.
El modelo de negocio preferido de Mobalpa es el de la franquicia -más de 300 de sus 350 tiendas lo son-. Abrir un establecimiento del grupo galo supone una inversión de unos 250.000 euros. A cambio, la compañía promete un volumen de ventas medio de 1,2 millones de euros en los tres primeros años y un retorno de la inversión (ROI) del 8%.
Especialista en cocinas
Mobalpa trabaja los segmentos de baño, muebles de hogar y cocinas, aunque es especialmente fuerte en este último. Toda su producción -unos 600.000 muebles y 60.000 cocinas cada año- se realiza en sus cuatro fábricas localizadas en Thones, una localidad situada al pie de Los Alpes y junto a la frontera con Suiza.
El grupo defiende que su punto fuerte respecto a otros actores del sector con los que compite donde está presente, como lo serán Ikea oLeroy Merlin enEspaña, es su capacidad para personalizar proyectos y adecuarlos a los gustos y a las necesidades de sus clientes. Además, la empresa destaca que ofrece una garantía de 10 años en todos los muebles que comercializa y de 25 años en sus piezas, como bisagras o cajones.
Mobalpa cuenta también con una división inmobiliaria que opera con proyectos llave en mano en siete mercados (Noruega, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Taiwán, Mauricio y Canadá), aunque el núcleo de su actividad es la venta de muebles y soluciones para cocinas.
En Reino Unido, donde abrió su primera franquicia fuera de Francia, suma 20 tiendas en la actualidad. Además, tiene presencia en Bélgica,Suiza, Suecia, Rusia, Austria, Argelia, Costa de Marfil o Indonesia, entre otros países.
