Delitos electrónicos ocasionan pérdidas por 100 mil millones de dólares en región

La presidenta del capítulo local de la Business Alliance for Secure Commerce (BASC Dominicana), July de la Cruz, consideró lamentable los resultados de un informe del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID) que arrojó que 4 de cada 5 países de Latinoamérica y el Caribe carecen de estrategias de ciberseguridad y de planes de protección de infraestructura crítica, que ocasionan pérdidas anuales de casi US$100,000 millones de dólares en la región.
Al pronunciar este martes las palabras de apertura del XIII Congreso Nacional de BASC, que tuvo como tema “Innovación y Seguridad: Base para el crecimiento del comercio internacional”, De la Cruz manifestó que es una necesidad validar las políticas empresariales que midan la eficacia de los controles y las medidas de protección que son cada vez más imprescindibles para poder ser competitivos.
Durante su exposición en el evento, efectuado en el hotel Real Intercontinental, la presidenta de BASC Dominicana señaló que “creemos que la innovación nos puede ayudar a ser más competitivos, crear nuevas soluciones, integrar esfuerzos para alcanzar las metas de nuestra Estrategia Nacional de Desarrollo, enfocado en la generación de confianza y la gestión de los riesgos implícitos en todos los actores de la cadena de valor”.
De la Cruz valoró como positiva la participación integrada del sector logístico en el evento, como muestra de la sinergia que exigen los nuevos tiempos para enfrentar los retos del mercado ante la región y el mundo.
Dijo que como parte de las discusiones se contempló la conformación de una red multimodal de transporte y servicios logísticos con cobertura nacional, que incluirá el desarrollo de precintos electrónicos con localización por GPS, medidas y controles actualizadas de los puertos y aeropuertos, así como el valor agregado que genera la intervención coordinada de instituciones del estado como el Cuerpo Especializado en Seguridad Aeroportuaria y de la Aviación Civil (CESAC), para fortalecer las relaciones público-privada.
