Masbien.com, la tienda virtual en la que se puede hacer mercado en línea, cerró el año pasado con ventas de 1.500 millones de pesos y en lo que va del año, al cierre de mayo, lleva entre 1.200 y 1.250 millones de pesos, y la meta que tienen para finales del 2019 es de 10.000 millones de pesos.

¿Cómo la tecnología digital está cambiando la práctica de ir al cine?
Esta empresa sigue un modelo de negocio en el que no les regalan a las personas bonos o puntos, sino que por cada 100.000 pesos de compras que se haga, la persona gana 5.000 pesos, y lo mismo pasa si invitan a otra persona y esta gasta el mismo dinero, vuelve a ganar otros 5.000.
Así mismo, la firma trabaja con unos parámetros en los cuales negocian con 65 fabricantes del país, manejan todo lo referente a la logística y compran el inventario.
El catálogo de los productos que tiene este mercado en línea son muchos, pero les faltan algunos y por esa razón han querido ampliar este portafolio.
Juan Carlos Paba –presidente y fundador de la empresa– explica: “Cuando Masbien.com empezó, vendía productos no perecederos”. Y agrega: “Hoy en día tenemos todo el portafolio, porque las personas ya pueden comprar prácticamente su mercado completo. Ahora, en junio, metemos lo único que nos hace falta en la canasta de mercado que son pescados y mariscos”.
Hasta el momento, la empresa ha estado operando únicamente en el área de Bogotá y Cundinamarca, donde está presente en lugares como Sopó, La Calera, Cajicá, Chía, Cota, Funza, Mosquera y Soacha.
Pero, según el presidente y fundador de esta compañía, tienen previsto ampliar la cobertura nacional, entrando el próximo año a todas las principales ciudades del país.
Y, frente al panorama internacional, han hecho un plan de negocio que le apunta al año 2021, para llegar a todos los países de América Latina.
Debido a que Masbien.com es una plataforma digital, hoy en día tiene alrededor de 30.000 personas registradas, y cerca de 10.000 son clientes frecuentes que hacen mercado al menos cada 3 meses. La tasa de crecimiento –señala el directivo– es de 25 por ciento sobre el mes inmediatamente anterior.
Además, dentro de los empleos generados tienen 25 personas que trabajan de forma directa y 150 son empleados de manera indirecta.
