Bóboli acelera: abre filial en Colombia y ficha un nuevo director de retail
Ecommerce en los maduros, expansión en los emergentes. Estos son los pilares de la nueva estrategia de Bóboli, que ha cerrado el último ejercicio con una facturación de cuarenta millones de euros. La compañía de moda infantil ha continuado acelerando su desarrollo en el extranjero, con una filial en Colombia y nuevos acuerdos en Kazajistán y Oriente Próximo, mientras en España ha encarado una reordenación de su red comercial que ha dado ya por concluida.
La empresa cerró el ejercicio 2019 (finalizado el 30 de septiembre) con un ligero descenso del 3% debido principalmente a la caída del consumo en el mercado nacional, según han explicado desde Bóboli a Modaes.es.
El descenso ha sido especialmente agudo en el canal multimarca, que está “en notable decrecimiento” y que ha “acentuado” el cierre de comercios. El contexto tampoco ha sido favorable: la compañía alude a un aumento de la competencia en precios bajos, el comercio online, la menor motivación del consumidor en moda, la bajada de la natalidad o el cambio de las condiciones climáticas como otros de los factores que han impactado en las ventas.
Bóboli abrirá 35 nuevos puntos de venta en Oriente Próximo y una tienda en Almaty
Durante los últimos meses, Bóboli ha llevado a cabo algunos cierres de tiendas con el objetivo de sanear la cadena y mejorar la rentabilidad del canal. “Esta fase se ha superado y ha finalizado en noviembre”, explican.
Sólo en el último mes, la marca ha abierto nuevas tiendas efímeras en La Roca Village y Las Rozas Village, los dos complejos de Value Retail en España. Para liderar la red de tiendas de Bóboli y los cincuenta corners en grandes almacenes, la compañía acaba de incorporar a José María Fontova como nuevo director de retail.
El ejecutivo comenzó su carrera en tiendas del grupo VF como Vans y Timberland antes de dar el salto a Swarovski, donde trabajó durante once años y llegó a ser director de operaciones de retail en España y Portugal.

El extranjero continúa siendo, junto con el canal online, el principal motor de crecimiento de Bóboli. La empresa está presente en más de setenta países, que copan el 45% de su facturación.
El pasado verano, la compañía abrió una nueva filial en Colombia para la distribución en el mercado multimarca y ha nombrado nuevos distribuidores para Kazajistán y Oriente Próximo. En el primer caso, el nuevo socio de Bóboli pilotará la expansión en el canal multimarca y abrirá una tienda en Almaty, la capital del país, el próximo febrero. En Oriente Próximo, el distribuidor pondrá en marcha 35 espacios de la marca en sus tiendas.
Frente a este desarrollo en los mercados emergentes, Bóboli apunta a una “atonía en los maduros”. En Europa, la empresa está centrando su expansión en el canal online: la firma cuenta con tienda online en casi todos los países del continente y opera en marketplaces como Zalando o La Redoute. En 2018, las ventas del canal online crecieron un 30%.
Bóboli, controlada por la familia Algás y con una plantilla de cerca de 200 personas, ha incorporado también metodologías agile, “capacitando a toda la organización para que lidere proyectos de desarrollo de negocio”.
De cara a 2020, la estrategia de la empresa se basará en cuatro pilares: sostenibilidad, omnicanalidad, experiencia y exportación. En este sentido, está trabajando para poder incluir certificaciones como Oeko-tex, Gots o Better Cotton Iniciative (BCI) de cara a la próxima temporada.
En las tiendas, Bóboli está introduciendo nuevos servicios como las devoluciones online, una zona de lactancia, otra para cambiar pañales y un área de juegos. Estas novedades se han incluido ya en la tienda de Gran de Gracia, en Barcelona, que ha sido renovada recientemente para adaptarse a este nuevo concepto.
