Nike reestructura su mercado en Latinoamérica. La compañía estadounidense de moda deportiva ha alcanzado un acuerdo con dos distribuidores locales para vender su negocio en Argentina, Brasil, Chile y Uruguay. Los términos económicos de la operación no se han desvelado.
Grupo Axo se encargará de la distribución en los tres países hispanohablantes, mientras que Grupo SBF asumirá el control del negocio de Nike en Brasil. La compañía estadounidense ha indicado en un comunicado que con este movimiento contarán con una estructura “más rentable y eficiente y con un modelo de negocio de mayor valor”.
Actualmente, Axo tiene la distribución exclusiva de treinta marcas en México y Chile, y se especializa en el segmento de la moda y el deporte premium. El grupo ya trabajaba con Nike en México, donde gestiona cinco de sus tiendas. SBF, por su parte, distribuye la marca Centauro y es el mayor retailer deportivo de Brasil y otros países de Latinoamérica, con 209 establecimientos.

Como resultado de este movimiento, durante el tercer trimestre de su ejercicio fiscal, que va de junio a mayo, Nike clasificará los balances económicos de las entidades y reconocerá un cargo único de 425 millones de dólares (385,6 millones de euros) derivado de las pérdidas que puede ocasionar el cambio de divisas.
Nike cerró los seis primeros meses de su ejercicio fiscal de 2020 con una facturación de 20.986 millones de euros (18.862 millones de euros), un 9% más. El beneficio neto, por su parte, se disparó un 28%, hasta 2.482 millones de dólares (2.230,8 millones de euros), aupado por China y por la ofensiva directa por el consumidor iniciada hace dos años.
