Netflix, Spotify y Airbnb pagarían impuestos en RD en 2020

El Presupuesto General del Estado para 2020 contempla aplicar un impuesto a las plataformas digitales como Netflix, Spotify y Airbnb, como una de las implicaciones para cumplir su objetivo de recaudar RD$747,829.1 millones, equivalente a un 11.9%, con respecto a lo estimado este año.
El informe que detalla el presupuesto explica que el recargo se aplicaría a la venta de contenidos digitales de plataformas internacionales a partir del próximo año.
Cabe destacar que hasta el momento no se especifica el monto exacto que se contempla cobrar, pero el documento explica que el recargo “es equivalente al Impuesto sobre la Transferencia a los Bienes Industrializados y de Servicios (ITBIS) o al Impuesto Selectivo al Consumo (ISC) de todos los servicios de telecomunicaciones que incluyan la transmisión de voz, imágenes, materiales escritos o impresos, símbolos, sonidos por medios telefónicos, telégrafos, cablegráficos, radiofónicos inalámbricos, vía satélite, cable submarino, televisión por cable o por cualquier otro medio que no sea transporte vehicular, aéreo o terrestre.
Asimismo, indica que países como Colombia, Costa Rica y Argentina se ha introducido este gravamen recientemente y han modificado sus códigos tributarios para incorporar la figura del impuesto a los servicios digitales.
