2018, el año en que la industria perdió el motor de las exportaciones
Las exportaciones han sido la tabla de salvación de la industria de la moda en España. La tendencia alcista que las caracterizó en el último periodo fue compensando el débil avance del consumo interno, pero en 2018 se produjo un cambio de paradigma. Por primera vez en años, el textil, la confección, la piel y el calzado aflojaron su ritmo exportador (llegando incluso a contraerlo), añadiendo mayor inestabilidad e incertidumbre al sector, que volvió a registrar otro año de dientes de sierra después de quedar fuera del nuevo mapa del aprovisionamiento en proximidad. La caída del motor de las exportaciones provocó una fuerte sacudida al resto de indicadores, que han ido tiñéndose de rojo a medida que el año avanzó.
